Darren Carver, Associate Pastor, Discipleship 
Darren has had the privilege of serving the Lord in full-time ministry for over 20 years. He joined the Houston NW staff in August of 2007 following the completion of his Master of Divinity degree from Liberty Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. Darren has a passion for leading children, students and adults to "dig deeper" into God's Word. Darren is married to Patti and they enjoy spending time and living life with their two children, Laney and Davis. You can contact Darren at darrenc@HNW.org.


Dwight Davis, Pastor of Missions and Administration
Dwight has served at Houston NW since 1995. In addition to his current position at Houston NW, he also serves as President of the World Hope Ministries. He participates through missions in many countries around the world. Dwight earned his Bachelor of Business from Howard Payne University and received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities from California State Christian University in honor of 25 years of continued mission work. He is married to Linda and has two adult children. Dwight‘s hobbies are hunting, fishing and going to his family ranch. You can contact Dwight at dwightd@HNW.org.


Mark Howell, Senior Pastor
Dr. Howell has served as Senior Pastor since 2005. He has extensive pastoral experience and has taught preaching at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He received a B.A. Degree from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN, and a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He has preached the gospel on four continents and has led mission teams to nearly a dozen countries. Tom King, Counseling Pastor
Dr. King earned a B.A. from Friends University in Wichita, KS, a M.Ed. from Central State University in OK and a Ph.D. from the University NM. These degrees are in the areas of Psychology and Special Education. Dr. King served on the faculty of two Universities prior to going into private practice. He has also served on staff at two Southern Baptist Churches prior to coming to Houston NW Church in 1999. Dr. King currently serves as the Ministry and Counseling Pastor and directs all Counseling programs (including training Lay Counselors/Disciplers). Sarah Larson, Student Associate
Sarah grew up at Houston NW and joined our ministry team in 2010 as Student Associate. She has an inspiring enthusiasm for Jesus and a love for students. Rachel Merchant, Director of Preschool Ministries
Rachel had the joy of growing up and experiencing ministry first hand at an early age in a minister's home. She trusted the Lord as her personal Savior as a first grader. After graduation from the University of Mobile she surrendered to full-time ministry. Following the call God placed on her life, she pursued and received a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. God has given Rachel a love and passion to work with young children and their families. It is her desire to help preschoolers lay a strong biblical foundation in their lives that they will build on as they grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord. She has had the privilege of serving the Lord through Preschool Ministries for over 10 years. Shawn Myers, Associate Pastor for Worship
Shawn joined the Houston NW team in 1997 as the Associate Pastor for Worship. His education includes a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX and a Master of Music degree in Piano Chamber Music from Rice University in Houston, TX. At Houston NW, he enjoys combining keyboards and technology for Praise & Worship and values the opportunity to help others do the same. Nathan Presley, Student Associate
Nathan joined the student ministry team in 2010. He received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and is currently working on his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Nathan is married to Jenna and they are expecting their first child, Hadley, in December. Their deepest desire is to pursue Jesus and to lead students to do the same! Stuart Sheehan, Worship Pastor
Dr. Sheehan has served as Pastor for Worship at Houston NW since 1995. He is married to Amy and together they share the joy of parenting three children. He has taught, sung, preached, led worship and been involved in direct missions across the nation and around the world. Dr. Sheehan received a B.M. in Church Music from Furman University, and a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts from The University of Texas at Austin. He has taught extensively on the subject of worship and serves as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate Seminary and Southwestern Seminary. You can contact Dr. Sheehan at stuarts@HNW.org.


Isaiah Stonecipher, Pastor to Children
Isaiah joined the Houston NW ministry team in 2010. He holds a Master's degree in Childhood Education from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth and a B.S. degree in History from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. Isaiah has a passion for sharing God's Word with children and seeing them come to a saving knowledge of who Christ is and learning to live their lives for Him. Isaiah likes sports and listening to news and sports talk radio. Jeremy Wilson, Pastor to College and Young Singles 
Jeremy has served at Houston NW since 2001. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Journalism from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity through Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jeremy echoes Paul's humbled thankfulness (1 Timothy 1:12) in being called to ministry. He enjoys communicating  God's life changing truth in new and creative ways and especially loves to see young people "get it" whether that means salvation, falling more in love with God and His Word, or discovering how they are uniquely gifted to serve God in ministry. You can contact Jeremy at jeremyw@HNW.org.


Joshua York, Pastor to Students
Joshua joined our ministry team as Pastor to Students in 2010. He received a  BA Degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, and is currently completing his Master of Divinity Degree at Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth. He and his wife, Lauren, are from Amarillo, Texas. The Yorks are expecting their first child in October. Joshua has a passionate love for Jesus and a strong commitment to biblical truth.
